Thank You

I just wanted to give a shout out to many of my clients in the Pacific Northwest - Port Townsend, Seattle, Poulsbo, etc., who have continued to work with me even though I am now 1600 miles away, an hour ahead, and over a mile up!

Thanks for being willing to ship your work & products out to Santa Fe, and I hope your new images are just as great as the work I was doing for you up north. Email, web and phone have really helped to make the world a smaller place, and I’ve even been able to send proofs out to commercial clients for review during the shoot! You know who you are - thank you mucho for your continued support!

Here’s a recent shot for Ruth Apter of 100 Horses (locals you can find her work in Madrid and Cloudcroft NM!):

New Look to our site!

I’m excited to have finally published our new look and feel to our web site! Formerly (for years) our site was based on a black/gray/silver look, which set off the photos nicely, but lately didn’t feel quite right. I had tried in the past to come up with something that was a little warmer and more colorful that didn’t also compete with the photographs. I think we finally found something that works. We’ve changed the news page colors to match, and will be changing the proofs gallery soon. We also have lots of seniors from the class of 2009 to show off, so keep an eye on that section for the new photos.

Hope you enjoy the new site and find it easy to navigate.

Bike to Work Week

This week is Bike to Work Week and so far I’ve made it 3 out of 4 days. The fact that I only live about 2.5 miles from the studio makes it pretty easy to get here, and the rail trail goes right to the back gate here at Lena St. Lofts.

I do seem to keep finding these tiny thorns/burrs in my tires which have caused one flat in back and now a slow leak up front, but once I figure out where they are I’ll hopefully be able to avoid them. Happy

This afternoon I had time to go all the way in to the plaza to meet Kelli for lunch at the fajita stand (which I’ve already worked off biking back to the studio). Happy

Friday is the big bike to work day, with a bunch of stuff going on at the Railyard tomorrow morning, and a family ride to end the week on Saturday, starting and ending at Second St. Brewery.

A couple web sites worth mentioning

A little known fact about Frank Ross Photography is that occasionally we get to design web sites! I’ve just finished a re-vamp of Ed Angell’s site:

edangellgallery

We’ve added a brand new section for his 2009 work so far. We have also revised the navigation of the site to keep the images more contained in the site, and also to make browsing a little more user friendly. Click on the screen shot above to check out Ed’s site v2009!

Another site worth jumping over to is Nöle Giulini’s. Her notable update is the addition of a documentary video to her site. The video is something she’s had available by request, but we’ve now made it instantly viewable right on her site thanks in part to YouTube. Click Below to take a look at Nöle’s video.
